How to Volunteer

A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank acount was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove.....but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.
          Paraphrased from an essay,
"Within My Power" by Forest Witcroft

There may be many volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers provide leadership for projects or clubs, manage county or state events and activities, take programs into schools, and help with special interest activities.

Volunteers are vital to 4-H Youth Development. They support the mission of 4-H to teach others and to enhance personal growth.

How can I enroll my group as a 4-H club?

WSU Pierce County 4-H has the necessary enrollment forms for you to complete and submit to the office. Enrollment is necessary for participation in 4-H.

We use a computer-based enrollment system, which means the forms must be filled out completely and accurately. Be sure to check the codes that accompany the form. The 4-H year is October 1 through September 30. All 4-H members must re-enroll every year. enrollments are due by November 1 of each year for returning members and are accepted throughout the year for new members. It's a good idea to enroll early so you and your members stay continually on the mailing list and receive notices of all events and activities. The deadline for enrollment additions and changes in order to be eligible to participate in state and county fairs and other activities is July 1.

After your club enrollment form has been submitted, check with the Pierce County 4-H office to see whether member recognition items are available.
